What is an SBLC?

A Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) is a bank instrument that guarantees payment to a beneficiary if the applicant fails to fulfil a contractual obligation. It is issued under ISP98 or UCP600 rules.

What is the minimum application cost?

The standard application cost applied by Torus Group is 0.17% of the bank instrument's face value, subject to a minimum threshold of €170,000.00 or USD equivalent.

How long does the issuance procedure take?

From the signed Term Sheet to SWIFT MT760 issuance, the procedure typically spans several weeks, subject to due diligence outcomes and each bank's internal timelines. See our full procedure.

Can I attach documents directly to the online questionnaire?

No. For security and confidentiality reasons, file attachments are not accepted through the online form. Once your questionnaire is received, we provide a secure, encrypted channel for document transmission.

Can I introduce my own third-party guarantor?

Yes. If the applicant has identified and secured its own third-party guarantor, it may introduce that guarantor to Torus Group as additional security supporting the transaction. This is addressed in Section 6 of our questionnaire.

What amounts and validity periods are typically handled?

Face values generally range from €10,000,000 to €500,000,000 (or USD equivalent), with a standard validity of one year and one month, renewable.
